We previously presented a study that depicted the danger of assuming that a plaintiff-friendly venue is always plaintiff-friendly. The study showed that a venue’s plaintiff-friendly bias may diminish sharply in motor-vehicle cases. The point was, don’t assume that a venue is automatically favorable merely based on its reputation. In this follow-up, we’ll survey the same landscape from a different perspective, that of a medical-malpractice attorney. Throw a medical-malpractice component into the case, and a plaintiff-friendly jury becomes downright sycophantic. Check out the accompanying chart, based on jury verdicts reported to VerdictS.
